There is so SO so much to love about this beautiful mother and son duo. I love that I get to spend so much time exploring their love bond, year on year. Thank you, Li Chiang for always having me.
Up, down, and touch the ground,
In the mood for fun!
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go
Take a look at the five and ten, it's glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes that glow.”
2020 has definitely been slightly crazy! Christmas this year is also of a different sort. For some, like the Erikson-Fay family, it means a tropical Christmas, far away from loved ones and family.
“Life is better when you’re laughing”
To the little boy with the cheekiest smiles, thank you for sharing your positivity. Thank you for making me laugh for the entire session I had with your family.
With boys you always know where you stand
right in the middle of a hurricane.
And then there were three boys! I first photographed the gorgeous Flynns back when I was just starting to focus on family portraits four to five years ago. I remember back then there were only two boys - one a very smiley baby, and the other a doting big brother. I had the best time with everyone, and there wasn’t a dull moment! I’ve said this before, and I would say it again, I absolutely love watching families grow!
Watch them grow: 2017
I know a little girl,
she puts the colour inside of my world!
Oh, the sassiest and friendliest little girl, with the biggest laugh. So much fun and joy hanging out with little E who is all of FOUR today! The pandemic may have slowed the photography business down by almost 70%, but having the privilege to connect and get invited into homes, to photograph children in their safe space, where they are so SO so LOVED, is something I will cherish for a long time.
いつまでも愛してる!
I’ll love you forever.
Living in such unprecedented times has definitely made me reflect so much more on the simple blessings of love, family, and laughter! As it wreaks havoc in the world, and with so many facing job loss, it reminds me to not take things for granted.
This bump-to-pop session would be one I would remember for the longest time. It is one of my first sessions post the Malaysian Movement Control Order (MCO), during the Recovery MCO. I never felt so much gratefulness to once again hold the weight of the camera, coo at a teeny tiny human being, and to laugh and celebrate together with my clients as they welcome a gorgeous tiny new addition.
The lens through which you see your childhood
Ever since I began photographing families, this precious family has been doing their yearly portraits with me. There is just something about families trusting me and growing together with me, that makes my heart sing. To be able to create memories, to grow with them, to connect and get to know their little ones - this really reminds me of why I love doing what I do.

very much not ourselves—a special kind of double.”
